Daily Routine

Research shows that young children need, hands on learning activities, conversation, and play to learn. Here's a routine you can follow to structure your day at home, this is very similar to what we do in the classroom.

Breakfast

Playtime 30 mins

Read Aloud/Music & Movement 10 mins

Playtime 1 hour

Read Aloud/Music & Movement 10 mins

Outdoor Exploration/Gross Motor Time 30 mins

Remember to include fine motor, open ended art, science and counting activities in your play.

Weekly

Targeted Virtual Instruction

Please join us on Google Hangouts Meets, the link will be posted on Class Dojo the day of. The meeting should be about 15 minutes. Please have the materials ready and an adult nearby to facilitate the activities. This week we are meeting on Monday for a math lesson and Wednesday for a literacy activity.

Monday @ 12pm

Topic: Math, Standard: estimate the number of objects in a set and verify by counting, match the number of objects in a set to the correct numeral

Materials: pipe cleaners/spaghetti, beads/Cheerios, play dough, dice/number cards (e-mailed, send me an email if you need them)

Wednesday @ 12pm

Topic: Literacy, Standard: retell a story with the aid of pictures, props, or a book

Materials: re-telling cards (e-mailed)
